THE GREAT VICTORIAN RAIL TRAIL
The trail is Australia’s longest continuous rail trail spanning 134km. The rail trail begins at the small bush township of Tallarook and ends in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, at Mansfield. It is a relatively flat multi-purpose trail which can be accessed directly from LarnOO. Walk, run or ride for as long as you feel energetic!

Along the way, the trail takes you from the banks of the beautiful Goulburn River and up the Goulburn Valley, past granite-boulder strewn hillsides, taking you through numerous small small villages and the townships of Yea, Yarck and Bonnie Doon, all great places for a food and drink stop. You will pass some impressive historical infrastructure, the long, dark Cheviot Tunnel and the Bonnie Doon Bridge spanning Lake Eildon. The trail makes its way through rich farmland brimming with Australian wildlife and magnificent stands of ancient red gums, before finishing in Mansfield.

*Access from LarnOO*: The rail trail runs through the south-western end of LarnOO. Access point is near the WEST GATE of the Goulburn Valley Highway.
